Dear First Workings Community,
We are pleased to announce that Chloe Mullarkey is taking on a new role as Senior Advisor and Head of Strategic Planning, effective October 1. In her new position, Chloe will advise on strategy as First Workings continues to grow. Her new role coincides with her relocation to Colorado.
Chloe played an integral part in launching First Workings in 2014. Over the last five years, she has helped us develop into a thriving organization that has successfully steered more than 200 amazing students into life-changing internships with over 50 companies through partnerships with 13 public and charter schools in New York City.
Chloe’s current responsibilities will be divided between Cindy Guan, Program and Operations Manager, and Yasmin Sanders-Fathi, Corporate Engagement Manager.
Cindy will be responsible for managing schools, students and overall operations for the organization. Cindy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Harvard University, and double Master of Education/Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University Teachers College. She has worked in youth services in various capacities, ranging from one-on-one counseling and case management, to consulting with schools and nonprofit organizations.
Yasmin will be responsible for corporate engagement and fundraising. Yasmin earned her Bachelor of Arts Degrees in International Studies and Environmental Studies with a focus on Environmental Justice from Loyola University Chicago. Prior to joining our team, Yasmin worked in college and career access with high school youth in Chicago. She is passionate about workforce development, equitable access and sustainable community development.
This is an exciting time for First Workings. This year, we welcomed our largest cohort ever, bringing 70 students into internship positions with some of New York’s leading companies. Looking ahead, we are excited to see our first cohort graduate college and embark on the next stage in their professional and academic careers next spring. Our organization has never been stronger and we couldn’t do it without the tremendous support of all of our partner schools, companies and advisors.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions about our new leadership structure at First Workings. Thank you for your continued support.
